Hi. My employer is reducing our regular overtime and giving it to an external contractor as he said it’s cheaper. Is it legal not to ask us first if we can complete the overtime work? Can he change our terms and conditions without our consent?

Yes. That’s the basis of at-will employment: Employers are free to change wages and other working conditions without consulting with the workers. Only employees who are represented by a union have the right to insist that the employer negotiate with them in good faith about job changes.
