Training for Managers & Employees

Fair Measures management training programs prevent costly lawsuits by teaching managers and employees the skills they need to be productive and create a respectful workplace. With an emphasis on practical, common-sense approaches, our workshops teach not just the law, but your organization's policies and values. Our instructor-led legal training programs empower managers and employees to make the right choices, including when to partner with your in-house resources to get help before challenges turn into problems.

In these times, legal matters are just too important to leave to the lawyers! With workplace claims soaring to unprecedented levels, well-trained managers—especially ones who can spot legal issues before they become legal problems—can make the difference between success and disaster for your company.

Supreme CourtWhile not all lawsuits can be prevented, managers who understand their legal responsibilities will save your company millions of dollars in legal fees, thousands of hours of lost time, and keep employee retention high.

Don’t wait until your company is faced with a messy employee claim to get your managers partnering with you in minimizing legal risk. The links below describe our various programs. But more important than the content of these programs, is the way we work with you to make these programs seamlessly integrate with your corporate culture, policies, and values. Give us a call to discuss how we can partner with your training and legal departments to unleash the full potential of your workforce.

Our programs include:

Managing Within the Law
Employee lawsuits can develop from seemingly small things such as poor communication, the perception of unmet promises, to larger issues such as struggles over leave requests, incorrect performance management documentation, and retaliation suits. If you think your managers may not clearly understand the legal risks they can create for your company every time they evaluate or reassign employees, or respond to employee issues, this one-day training program is essential. Taught by our own employment law trainers since 1987, this program includes such topics as documentation, wrongful action, discrimination, retaliation and harassment. A second day of training can be added that includes privacy, ethics, overtime, and more.

Respectful Workplace: Understanding and Preventing Harassment
It's not just sexual anymore—anyone can sue for illegal harassment. This half-day program can be customized for employees or managers. Powerful, often hilarious, and sometimes harrowing stories (all pulled from actual legal cases) demonstrate the difference between friendly banter and a legal problem. By the end of this highly interactive workshop, your group will know what to do about both.
